Byrne Media South Hill, VA (WWDW, The Lake 107.7 FM) is looking for a proven Talk Radio Host. Candidate will be responsible for hosting a daily radio program focused on delivering news, commentary, and analysis from a LOCAL perspective. This individual will engage with listeners, interview guests, and present a compelling narrative that aligns with a local focused agenda. The host will also monitor current events, research topics, and prepare content to ensure the program remains informative, relevant, and engaging.

Responsibilities:
<li>Host daily radio program covering news and current events.
<li>Research and prepare content, including topics, talking points, and interview questions.
<li>Engage with listeners through phone calls, emails, and social media platforms.
<li>Conduct interviews with guests, including political figures, experts, and commentators.
<li>Present clear and articulate commentary on political, social, and cultural issues.
<li>Monitor news sources and stay informed about relevant developments.
<li>Collaborate with producers, engineers, and other team members to ensure smooth operation of the program.
<li>Adhere to station guidelines, including FCC regulations and company policies.
<li>Participate in promotional activities and station events as required.
<li>Stay updated on audience feedback and adjust content accordingly to maintain listener satisfaction.
<li>Work with the station advertising department to facilitate and execute ad campaigns for station clients. 
<li>When requested, provide voice overs for commercial production. Assist with production in General.

Qualifications:
<li>Strong knowledge of local, regional, and national current events.
<li>Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
<li>Previous experience in radio broadcasting or public speaking preferred.
<li>Ability to think critically and analyze complex issues.
<li>Comfortable engaging with diverse audiences and viewpoints.
<li>Proficiency with audio editing software and broadcast equipment.
<li>Flexible schedule, including availability for early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
<li>Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
<li>Passion for talk radio and a commitment to delivering high-quality content.

Physical Requirements:
<li>Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
<li>Manual dexterity for operating broadcasting equipment.
<li>Ability to lift up to 20 pounds for equipment setup and breakdown.

Working Conditions:
<li>Fast-paced studio environment with tight deadlines.
<li>Exposure to live radio broadcasting and on-air pressure.
<li>Occasional travel may be required for remote broadcasts or station events.
