Description:
WIFS-TV in Madison has a unique opportunity for a Broadcast TV Engineer.
The selected candidate will perform maintenance of computers and broadcast equipment of the television station.
Job Description includes but is not limited to:
Execute all engineering functions of the station, installations, requirements, and purchasing recommendations
Maintain computer software, hardware, and local area network applications
Keep software license compliance and all software versions up to date
Maintain broadcast electronical equipment: receivers, satellite receivers, and computing equipment
Transmitter maintenance
Availability to troubleshoot issues with broadcast or computer equipment (after hours and on weekends on occasion)
Ensure security and FCC compliance
The best candidate will have:
3 years experience (preferred) in broadcast electrical systems and equipment maintenance
Ability to troubleshoot, install, and maintain all equipment at the station and the transmitter site
The drive to maintain the quality of the Broadcasts
A valid Wisconsin State Drivers License
Ability to work on ladders, stand for long periods of time, and lift computers or equipment up to 50 lbs.
Technical degree in electronics or a related field, or an equivalent of work and educational experience. Knowledge and willingness to comply with all FCC regulations.
