Technical Operations Manager

Location:  Mid-West Location

Description:  

This position is responsible for the daily operation and management of the facility and leadership of technical team.

Essential Functions: A Midwest media company is looking for a full time Technical Operations Manager to join our team.

  • Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies
  • Ensure that corporate operations are coordinated and completed within set deadline and available budget.
  • Produce and present to company management periodic reports of technical operations.
  • Ensure the provision of technical equipment and materials required for operations
  • Develop and apply firmware, software, and hardware solutions to meet the technical requirements of a company.
  • Responsible for the immediate troubleshooting of urgent technical issues
  • Liaise with other departmental heads to plan and implement action plans for improved technical operations
  • Develop processes for the resolution of technical challenges and client complaints
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant technical and human resource policies and procedures
  • Major qualities required for success in this job include time management, budgeting, and leadership skills
  • Manage stations capital budget and purchasing of technical equipment
  • 3-5 years of experience working in IT operations in a leadership role

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Current knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems
  • Knowledge of the components, operation, maintenance, configuration and repair of network switches, wireless equipment, and mobile device support
  • Knowledge of hypervisor solution technologies for desktops, servers, storage, and networks
  • Knowledge and experience with protocols and technologies such as (TCP/IP, DNS, FTP, SFTP, HTTPS, SSL, SMTP, VPN, RDP, MMC, VLAN)
  • Support of enterprise and web-based applications
  • Possess the positive attitude of a collaborative team player
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with constant deadlines
  • Demonstrate professional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours or shifts.
  • Ability to be on call for support after hours
  • Experience with AV switching, video encoding/decoding and file transcoding is a plus

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associates in IT with equivalent work experience required
