WTOK has immediate openings for two Primary Weekday Anchor/MMJs. We are looking for passionate and energetic storytellers to deliver high quality news content both on the desk and out in the field on a daily basis. The ideal candidates should be excellent writers and have great communications skills and should be able to deliver the news in an energetic, but calm, clear and professional manner. Select candidates should be able to multi-task and handle duties under pressure, display good news judgment, be a team player and a newsroom leader. Duties include anchoring newscasts at various times of the day, shooting, writing and editing general assignment news stories on a daily basis and representing the station at promotional functions and stationed-sponsored events. Must also be able to operate news equipment in a safe, professional manner, support news promotion and must be comfortable and connected with all broadcast journalism platforms including television, social and digital media.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Anchor newscasts as directed
  • Willingness to be flexible including working weekends, nights, holidays and shifts outside normal business hours
  • Shoot, write and edit daily news stories
  • Help post content on multiple digital and social media platforms
  • Appear at station-sponsored events
  • Willing and able to produce newscasts on a fill-in basis
  • Report live in the field as-needed
  • Reads/copy edits news scripts before each show
  • Conducts in-studio interviews


  • Must have college degree in broadcast journalism, journalism or related field
  • 2 years anchoring and reporting experience preferred
  • This is a MMJ position. Must be able to shoot, write and edit
  • Previous producing experience is preferred
  • Possess strong leadership skills and must have good news judgement
  • Professional knowledge of news operations preferred
  • Must be a story-teller, not just a news reader
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening
  • Must possess a valid driverís license and have a good driving record
