The American Tobacco Campus jump-started the downtown Durham (NC) renaissance and is committed to growing its leadership role in the city and region over the next ten years. ATC encompasses one million square feet of office space, apartments, the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, the Durham Performing Arts Center, and the American Underground Startup Hub. It will soon experience another evolution as ATC expands its footprint building one million square feet of new space adjacent to the historic campus. American Tobacco Campus is seeking a marketing manager with the ability to tell the story of this dynamic place and showcase its uniqueness through marketing campaigns, social media strategy, and communications work for the campus.
Job Description: As Marketing Manager for American Tobacco Campus, you will work with the Director of Strategy to implement and execute the marketing and communications plan. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for social media management, weekly communications to American Tobacco Campus tenants (including campus and digital) and keeping a pulse on what’s happening in the community. We’re looking for someone with one to two years of marketing experience and an execution-driven mindset. This is a full-time position.
In many ways, this role will be the voice of the American Tobacco Campus. The Marketing Manager should have a friendly and welcoming demeanor that matches the tone of the ATC brand, be ever-present in and around campus and downtown Durham, and joining with the Director of Strategy to constantly consider how to grow ATC as the creative destination of North Carolina.
Develop social media campaigns across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter) that showcase events, new tenants, and compelling narratives about ATC as creative destination
Highlight, promote and engage with companies within in the American Tobacco Campus (mix of showcasing their work + space..i.e. here)
Craft and deploy weekly communications emails and campaigns to ATC tenants (campus and digital)
Craft and deploy leasing communication in collaboration with the Director of Strategy and Development Director
Create, maintain, and frequently update communication material (digital and physical) to ensure that communications stay “fresh” and relevant
Collaborate with ATC PR team on a monthly newsletter to the broader Triangle community
Proven experience developing marketing campaigns
Excellent written communications skills and a good sense of humor
Proficiency with basic filming (i.e. iPhone) for posting to social
Familiarity with Canva and other tools for creating social graphics
Team player with a positive attitude and desire to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
Availability to work occasional nights/weekends
