Key Accounts Sales Manager

Capitol Broadcasting Company is looking for a Key Accounts Sales Manager to oversee our WRAL (NBC) and WRAZ (FOX) key local and national accounts sales teams. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strong internal and external sales team, who is primarily focused on renewing and growing key transactional accounts. The ideal candidate would have National Sales Management experience, must have a successful track record in sales leadership and employee development as well as strong account management experience. The right candidate will have a passion for creativity and be sponsorship driven. We need the right management fit for our culture and someone that possesses the ability to create strategic partnerships with direct client. This person needs be fanatical about selling sports on FOX and NBC.

Responsibilities:

  • Set the overall tone for the Key Accounts sales team by providing exemplary leadership in accordance with mutually agreed upon sales goals and priorities
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings and quarterly planning meetings with each Key Account Manager
  • Clearly define Key Account Manager performance expectations and measurements
  • Effectively recruit, on-board and train new hires
  • Ensure client results, satisfaction, retention, and account growth
  • Attend sales meetings with Key Account Managers to accelerate the sales cycle, grow the account, and provide feedback to the Account Managers
  • Manage inventory and rates to maximize station revenue
  • Assist in accurately forecasting monthly, quarterly and annual revenue goals
  • Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual team market share goals
  • The ability to position, present and sell sports and special opportunities

    Required Skills:

  • 3-5 years in a sales management role
  • Highly skilled leader and motivator
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must
  • Proven record of exceeding budgeted revenue goals and market revenue share expectations
  • Exceptional time management and project management skills, especially working within a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Extensive experience working with high end advertisers, large-scale agencies, and national TV sales
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills for motivating staff and maximizing revenue performance
  • Broadcast media and digital sales experience
  • Effective relationship building, customer service, communication and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in Wide Orbit and Matrix is preferred.
