Capitol Broadcasting Company is looking for a Strategic Accounts Sales Manager to oversee one of our WRAL and FOX50 sales teams. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strong sales team, primarily focused on developing new business on both of our TV platforms as well as WRAL Digital Solutions. The ideal candidate must have a successful track record in sales management and employee development as well as strong leadership capabilities.


  • Set the overall tone for the strategic sales team by providing exemplary leadership in accordance with mutually agreed upon sales goals and priorities
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings and quarterly planning meetings with each Strategic Accounts Manager
  • Clearly define Strategic Accounts Manager performance expectations and measurements
  • Effectively on-board and train new hires
  • Ensure client results, satisfaction and retention
  • Attend sales meetings with Business Development Account Managers to accelerate the sales cycle, grow the account, and provide feedback to the AM
  • Manage inventory and rates to maximize station revenue
  • Assist in accurately forecasting revenue quarterly and annually
  • Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual team sales goals Required Skills:
  • Highly skilled leader and motivator
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must
  • Proven record of exceeding budgeted revenue goals
  • Exceptional time management and project management skills, especially working within a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong new business development experience
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills for motivating staff and maximizing revenue performance
  • Broadcast media and digital sales experience
  • Effective relationship building, customer service, communication and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in Wide Orbit and Matrix is preferred
