Senior Account Executive

Generate revenue on the local sales level through the selling of commercial time to direct retailers, agency business, and regional accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Local Job Description:

  • Engage with new and existing clients to understand business objectives and create marketing campaigns to drive results through effective television and digital advertising solutions
  • Sell digital advertising and marketing solutions customized to each client's needs, from the Nexstar Broadcasting & hyfn local product suites. These include: video (tv & digital), social media (paid & organic) and additional multiplatform solutions.
  • Generate new business leads by prospecting and making cold calls to achieve and exceed sales goals
  • Understand prospectís organization and build relationships focusing on key decision-makers
  • Create and present customized sales presentations/proposals and successfully close negotiations
  • Ability to budget and forecast individual revenue achievement
  • Increase knowledge of sales and product offerings through provided on-going training
  • Attend trade shows, industry events and represent Nexstar Broadcasting in the local business community to build awareness and engagement
  • Maximize shares of current business and unit rate
  • Interdepartmental follow-through Post sale paperwork and internal completion
  • Knowledge of station, programming, rates, ratings, competitors
  • Position requires performance of other job-related duties as assigned.


  • High School Diploma (college degree preferred) Background in media (preferably television)
  • Experience with selling sports and broadcast sports sponsorships.
  • Sales experience (experience in broadcast sales preferred, but not required)
  • Strong communications skills, in person and phone
  • Working relationship with Connecticut and regional advertising agencies preferred
  • Team player
  • Self-motivator, goal oriented
  • A valid driverís license, state mandated automobile insurance and an acceptable driving record are also required.
  • Good computer skills Ė Office Suite Proficiency preferred
  • Developed organizational skills

    REVENUE/BUDGETARY/STAFF RESPONSIBILITY:Responsible for a portion of the established Local Sales Departmentís budget. Responsible to maximize revenue generation from the assigned account list.

    Work Environment/Physical Requirements: This person must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
