KMSB/FOX 11 and KTTU/My18, the TEGNA-owned /managed stations in Tucson, AZ are looking for a highly motivated, driven, and creative Major Accounts Sales Manager who is up to the challenge of setting new records across multiple platforms. The MASM will lead, motivate, and inspire the national sales team to exceed revenue goals and assist the LSM with local sales. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail and be organized. This is a terrific opportunity in one of the best lifestyle markets in the country.

Purpose: Sells advertising solutions to national and regional agencies, as well as grow our national and regional market share. Responsible to grow revenue by packaging, strong negotiating and increasing current client spend using the assets of the television station. Responsible for maximizing rates for live sports and delivering share goals on political revenue, and driving revenue opportunities on assigned accounts for OTT (Premion) platform.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work hand in hand with DOS on Price strategy and plan
  • Lead and manage rep firm providing them with the tools needed to properly represent KMSB and KTTU
  • Creates a business strategy with manager to achieve total revenue goals.
  • Ensure major account team continually positions the audience for rate and share of business
  • Provides advertising solutions that deliver results to the agencies and develops relationships at the client level to drive business
  • Able to demonstrate product knowledge and value to their customers.
  • Organizes and prioritizes to meet goals and deadlines on avail requests and negotiations
  • Effectively negotiates with customers to meet a winning return on investment.
  • Collaborates with assigned sales assistant to provide timely and accurate traffic instructions; conducts account maintenance including make-goods posts, and aging/collections.
  • Effectively utilizes sales support team to produce excellent written presentations that highlight station performance.
  • Communicate effectively with major account team, rep firm, and clients. Travel as needed to meet with high value accounts
  • Uses Salesforce and other sales department reporting systems to manage day to day activity.

    Performance Tracking:

  • Budget attainment for major accounts assigned to this team
  • Total National budget attainment and market share achievement
  • Maintain proper pricing based on demand
  • Achieve Hatch and Premion goals

    Leading Indicators:

  • Increased share overall on key regional/national business
  • Decreased PEs due to higher rates and CPPs
  • Effective positioning of audience with buyers, supervisors and planners

    Requirements:

  • College degree with minimum 2 years of prior media sales experience in a professional, fast paced sales environment preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively under deadline pressure.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy a must.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems.
  • Creative and able to adapt quickly to change.
  • Position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organization and time management.
  • Strong understanding of broadcast and/or digital advertising sales is preferred.
  • Professional business attire.
