This is a fantastic opportunity to join OnMedia, a division of Mediacom Communications Corporation, in Cedar Rapids, IA as a Director, Sales OnMedia. This position is located in one of our top markets and largest DMAís and will support multiple advertising sales teams located in Cedar Rapids/Iowa City, Dubuque, and Waterloo markets. Youíll have the opportunity lead by example, provide consistent management, show energy/initiative, and assist an experienced team of account executives. The focus will be on enhancing already established books of business and growing new relationships.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Will be responsible for providing direction/supervision for all ad sales related activities within the assigned DMA(s). Will ensure individual sales representatives achieve assigned sales objective and budgets.


  • Establishing and achieving sales objectives.
  • Leading and coaching subordinates. Monitors the sales representatives and other assigned associates in all areas of their daily assignments.
  • Recruits, trains, motivates and develops a sales organization into a cohesive unit to increase productivity and exceed minimum sales requirements and satisfy customer needs.
  • Personal interaction with key customers and prospects.
  • Inventory management and pricing.
  • Ensures sales representatives have a clear understanding of the marketplace including demographic profiles, competitive media, strategies and territorial growth potential.
  • Conducts performance reviews and takes disciplinary action in conjunction with the GM.
  • Creates and reviews quarterly and annual sales goals for their marketís sales executives.
  • Account list management for local sales personnel.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.
  • Requires regular attendance to report to work per assigned work schedule.


  • Bachelorís degree in a Sales & Marketing or related discipline;
  • 5 to 10 years media sales experience, with minimum of two years in a supervisor or management role required.
  • A history of entrepreneurial activity for self or previous employers.
  • Experience at building local revenue programs.
  • Experience with both ad agency and direct sales strategies and tactics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to motivate others
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must be willing and able to travel on a local basis.
  • Ability to perform all the duties and responsibilities as described.
