Multimedia Sales Representative

The Multimedia Sales Representative is responsible for growing new and existing business by selling the companyís wide range of advertising and marketing solutions for our print and digital publications, marketing solution services, video and webinars. The qualified candidate will have proven sales experience as well as exceptional customer service skills.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Achieves sales goals by developing and servicing existing, new and inactive accounts;
  • Interacts in a professional and courteous manner with key executives;
  • Retains business and ensures that turnover is at a minimum, while growing revenue from existing customer accounts and selling services to an ever-expanding customer base;
  • Conveys our multimedia offerings to the attention of customers in an effort to meet their growing needs;
  • Constantly considers our expanding product mix relative to the needs of customers and stays in continuous contact with customer to ensure opportunities are presented timely;
  • Meets sales budget requirements and provides accurate forecasts when required;
  • Utilizes all appropriate sales presentation tools that are available in order to bring custom developed marketing solutions to our customers in the most compelling manner;
  • Conveys pricing to customer in conformity with established pricing approved by publisher;
  • Monitors and understands the competitive landscape by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, competitive advertising schedules and placements;
  • Fully utilizes all sales tools to stay apprised of market competition, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.;
  • Studies and is knowledgeable with respect to customerís products and business;
  • Resolves customer complaints and objections by investigating, acknowledging and understanding problems, developing solutions and making recommendations;
  • Maintains copious notes and contact details within the CRM system approved by the company;
  • Reads and understands the content of assigned publication(s) brands, as well as competitorís brands;
  • Generates ideas and shares best practices with colleagues, editors and publishers and actively partakes with peers to help the Babcox business team grow and succeed overall;
  • Knows and understands the Babcox story and especially the specific-assigned brands story Ė print, digital, marketing solutions, data and video and how we emphasize and portray these products in the market;
  • Is aware of the calendar of key industry events and conferences and regularly attends such events as is required by the publisher;
  • Ensures that promotional lists are properly notated within CRM;
  • Focuses on the full assigned group of customers and prospects and continually makes effort toward expanding the number of active buying customers.

    Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Preferably, 3 years of proven outside sales experience and ideally in the capacity of media sales;
  • Bachelorís degree required;
  • Experience and familiarity with digital media and with social media as it relates to business-to-business marketing;
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • High level of integrity and work ethic;
  • Ability to travel;
  • Understanding of multimedia options, particularly relative to digital media;
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required.
